Water Conditions:  Fair-Good

Algae seems to be thinning but still patchy so you may have to move around.

ATTENTION: The Owens River Gorge is going to get flushed 8/3-8/9 so the lake level may drop rapidly and have a strong affect on fishing. It all depends on how much water they release, the lake has been dropping about an inch a day with around 250 cfs outflow so we'll see what happens.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Good

The perch are now a definite part of the food chain. This is the tough time where it's hard to figure out what they're on because it's constantly changing. Time of day is an important consideration and also how close to stream mouths you are fishing because the fish could be feeding on something being washed into the lake. Between that and the stream flows dropping the fish have started migrating towards the stream channels. You can still find them in 25' to 35' but they're now showing in 10' to 22' and they aren't glued to the bottom so make sure you fish several depths. McGee Bay and Green Banks are good bets. The adult perch have moved to the outside of the weeds. There are fish in Crooked Creek but haven't heard to much positive. Lots of Damsels and small Calibaetis emerging 10-1.
