The US Forest service has lifted closures on forest lands after being closed last week. The Truckee river is fishing great right now because of the cooler temperatures moving in. The flows in the Upper Truckee River are slow and shallow, until you get near the Hirschdale Canyon. The best flows run from here until the Nevada state border. Anglers top choices should be large dark stone flies, blue winged olives, and midges. Starting to see some of the October Caddis as well and hoppers are still a popular meal for the fish.

FLOWS: Tahoe City 76 CFS, Glenshire 77 CFS, Boca Confluence 450 CFS, and Farad Exit 497 CFS

RECOMMENDED GEAR:
Bugs: Hoppers, X Caddis, Large Dark Stone Flies, Red Headed Stepchild, Midges
Gear:  9′-11′ 5-7wt rod with 9′-12′ 4x-5x leader
