Quarry Lakes Report

Quarry Lakes - Fremont, CA (Alameda County)

On January 24, 2021, eleven-year old Oliver S. of San Carlos caught this 9 lb. trout on Sunday, Jan. 24, off a pink/white mousetail at the end of Fishermen’s Row.  He reeled it in all by himself and his dad netted it.

HOURS OF OPERATION

OPEN Seven Days a Week
February-March: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm; Kiosk Hours: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm; boaters can go through inspection and launch up until 4:00 pm and get banded before 5:00 pm

Boaters are required to prepay boat inspection and boat launch at Del Valle and Quarry Lakes at www.ebparks.org/Register and bring proof with them to limit touchpoints.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

If the kiosk is closed, please use the yellow Ventek machine to pay for parking (exact change only, please). For fishing permits, you may use either the Ventek machine or the blue iron ranger posts across from the kiosk, from the entrance from the Isherwood Staging Area, and from the walk-through gates by the Sequoia Bridge and from the Niles gate.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE 100 FEET AWAY FROM THE FISH TUBE, THE BOAT DOCK, AND THE BEACH AREA while fishing from the shore and from a boat. Also, note that the use of lead fishing tackle is prohibited at Quarry Lakes. You can exchange lead tackle at the kiosk in a “1 for 1” trade for stainless steel weights.

If you want to report your catches, or have your photo taken, please come to the kiosk, and we will take your information!

On January 21, 2021, Jack A. of Hayward caught ten trout, released eight of them and gave away the two largest, an eight-pound trout and a five-pound trout!  He was using his trademark rainbow runner and was fishing towards the back of Horseshoe Lake.

On January 29, 2021, Jack A. of Hayward caught his limit of trout, the largest of which weighed 8.8 pounds!  He was using his trademark rainbow runner, hand-painted by his friend Shin, and was fishing from his boat in the back of Horseshoe Lake.

Also on January 29, 2021, Matt A. of Milpitas caught a 6.6-pound trout. He was using Powerbait and was fishing from the Peninsula

On February 05, 2021, Jack A. of Hayward caught a five-pound trout from his boat using his trademark rainbow runner!
