The bass fishing has been hit or miss lately. The bluegill seem to be following the same path. The catfish have come alive around the backs of the coves, one fishermen reported catching 2 catfish down San Carlos using mackerel. All the fish weighted 6 pounds and 4 pounds respectfully. One of our local fishermen John fishing from a float tube, got three bass fishing with plastic worms in Alvarado Bay. One Kayla fishermen reported getting two bass both weighing over 6 pounds.

The water temp is a bit warm but the bass are still really active. Early morning bite is the best. Drop shot right in the tules produces the bigger bass. Bass Bite is Still Good

The weather and water are warm in mid august and the bass bite is sill going good. We had a few reports of limits being caught before 10 am over the weekend. San Carlos Point was also reporting the best numbers. Shiners are available at the bat shop and all species hit those. We have live worms for the bluegill as well. Good luck out there. ......
