Fishing is slow on the mainstem Nehalem River this time of year. Flows are still high. The Chinook run is mostly over with the majority of fish having made it to the spawning ground upstream of the fishery. The Nehalem is a wild fish river for steelhead, and as such won’t really pick up until mid-December with the best fishing being January through March.
