Hi guys this is Jacob with RBBASS and I had the opportunity to get out Camanche this past weekend and got to get on a great winter bite. The lake level as it sits currently is about half full so there is some water getting into the lake so the lake is fishing better. The morning temps were around mid 40’s at launch around 7am and were in the mid 50’s come noon and the water temps started in the low 50’s and the warmest I saw was 54* and water clarity in the lake is anywhere from 4-8ft. I started the morning off chucking a-rigs and glide baits with some good spots nailing the rig and had a couple hit and misses on the glide. Most of and my biggest fish for the day came on a 1/2oz Dobyns Rods mud craw colored jig and a Yamamoto twin tail grub trailer and they’re really grouped up in the 20-25ft depths around the lake. I finished the day with 18-19 fish in the boat with best five going around 16lbs. I didn’t have to resort to finesse presentations to get bite which makes for a great winter bite. Good luck y’all and I hope this helps!!! Make sure to stop by and check out rbbassfishing.net for the latest reports and tips on local lakes and bodies of water.
