Expo pond received another 1,500 legal rainbow trout the week of April 4. Expo has now received 6,000 legal rainbow trout this spring. The Rogue District is front loading stocking this spring in anticipation of warm water associated with drought conditions later in the year. So, get on out to Expo Pond while the fishing is good! A few larger trophy trout are still being caught periodically from a thanksgiving and post-sportsman’s show stocking. Warmwater fishing should be picking up, especially in the most northern pond.
PowerBait and nightcrawlers have all produced. Use as small a hook as possible since many of the trout are sometimes fickle biters with stationary baits. Spoons and spinners have also led to strong strikes. A light action rod and reel here will be the most fun for the trout bite.
Daily trout and bass limit at Expo Pond is 5 fish per day of each species.
Expo pond is part of the Jackson County Parks system. A $4 Day use pass is necessary to park in the day use lot at gate 5. Annual passes can be purchased from Jackson County Parks off of Table Rock Road/Mosquito Rd.
Chinese mystery snails are present here in the most northern pond. They are highly invasive and were illegally dumped here. Please do not move these creatures and drain and dry any personal watercraft before using them in another waterbody
