The Carson City Host Lions Club will be hosting the Annual Kids’ Fishing Day at Baily Pond in Fuji Park on Saturday, May 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is free and provides a good opportunity to introduce kids under the age of 12 to fishing and conservation. Volunteers will be available to answer questions and to help kids in need of assistance with fishing.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own rod and reel. A limited number of rods and reels will be available for use by kids under 12 who don't have their own. Rods, reels, bait and tackle will be provided until supplies run out.
Fishing licenses are required for anyone 12 years of age or older. The limit is two fish. Licenses are available at local retail outlets or online through the Nevada Division of Wildlife www.ndow.org.
Kids’ Fishing Day has been hosted by the Carson City Host Lions Club since 2010. The Club is part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization. For more information, go to www.carsoncitylions.com, and select “Fishing Day” under Events.
