Isabella held at 12 percent capacity this week and the annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby continues to payout cash for tagged trout caught. Multiple tags were caught last week, and the trout bite has been steady. The DFWL stocked Isabella this week adding to the thousands of pounds stocked for the derby. Shore anglers have been scoring trout with minijigs, Powerbait, GULP! Pinched Crawlers and spinners. Boaters have been doing well trolling Needlefish, Flicker shad and Tasmanian Devils. The Crappie action has been hit or miss. We’ve had reports of anglers doing well with nice stringers of slabs and anglers that have not found biting fish. Crappie have been found in 10 to 25-feet of water in or near structure with live small/medium shiners and minijigs. The Bass bite is fair and can be found off main and secondary lake points with Senkos, deep diving crankbaits, trout imitation swimbaits, and crawdad pattern baits. Whiskerfish action has been solid around the lake with dip baits, shrimp and cut mackerel.
