Crappie bite is here catching on chartruese tailed jigs and meal worms sold at the
Marina Tackle shop!
The trout bite has picked back up with another fish plant on 4/28/22 coming in at a whopping 4000 pounds of delicious rainbow trout!!Averaging 14 inches
around 1 1/2 pounds.
The bass bite has slowed a bit with bass moving off of spawn bed and into the shallow coves with algie bloom and structure. Catching bass on swimbaits and also some lead heads throwing spinnerbaits and a little bit of topwater in the early evenings.
Catfish are being caught mostly on mackeral and anchovies. Bluegill and red ear are being caught in high numbers on red worms and meal worms. See you all at the LAKE!!!

Santa Margarita LakeSSSHHHH!!! Did you hear that…. The crappie bite is on!! Shad are here!! Crappie are being caught off shore near Osprey Campsite and behind the marina store. Bass bite is continuing to do well still using drop shots and chatter baits! Catfish bite is good early morning and late in the day. Bluegill and red ear are being caught all over. Well the wait is over.. the shad are here!
Santa Margarita LakeWell the wait is over.. the shad are here! Bait balls and boils are happening everywhere! Catching bass laying up in spawn beds using jitterbugs and working the bottom. Two 10 pounders were caught this weekend in the bass tournament. The crappie bite is picking up and being caught mostly in shallow warm water using the same jigs ( white and chartreuse).
