The Kokanee fishing is still holding strong at Stampede Reservoir, with a few fish pushing the 17 inch mark. Anglers fishing for kokanee should be in the water as early as possible because the bite slows down past 8:00am. The kokanee are holding in 60 feet of water near the boat ramp and the dam. Some recommended bait for Kokanee to use are Vance’s watermelon dodger paired with a pink squid, Bahama Mamma RM dodger paired with green wedding ring, or a Paulina peak spinner magic in pink with white UV dodger. Anglers fishing for trout should focus on cutthroat trout in the Davies creek arm or in the middle of the lake.
Stampede Reservoir is currently at 51% capacity.
