Striper anglers reported another solid week of fishing, and the best bet has been to get out early and beat the heat. Striper went for topwater, jerkbaits, and small swimbaits after check gates. They also ate cut sardines, anchovies, and jumbo live shiners in those same areas. Catfish anglers used Triple S Dip Bait and chicken liver for some solid action. David Childress, of Copes, had a great day fishing for the whiskerfish. Stop by Copes and ask him about it. He’s always happy to share. Bass went for topwater early and late in the day, and they took Senkos and tiny flukes on the drop shot later in the day.
