It was another week of fair fishing at BV, but anglers are catching fish. Bass continue to hold deep in the cattails and weeds. Getting them out requires heavy gear or weedless techniques. Flipping and pitching into the tules seemed to get some of the biggest bass, but weightless Senkos, flukes, and weedless frogs worked too. Anglers also reported getting bite on spinnerbaits and crankbaits fished parallel to weed lines. Crappie bit small live minnows under a bobber, and catfish ate dip bait, nightcrawlers, and cut baits.
