Fishing season at Pyramid Lake has begun. Lots of options here. For boat anglers, the east shore is fishig the best. Boat anglers should troll in 80 feet of water with apex lures, lyman lures, and rapalas. There is also a great jig bite here. The bite is right at the 100 foot water column and as the day progresses, anglers will notice the bite is more around 40-50 feet. The east shore is fishing best from Warrior Point all the way down to the boat ramp. Shore anglers are doing best on the southern beaches near the steep drop offs. Shore anglers should try using tui chub patterns or black balance leeches. Stripping or indicator fishing is doing best for shore anglers. There are a lot of schools of tui chub right now. The tui chub will spawn at the beginning of November. Locate the large schools of tui chub and you'll often find large cutthroat nearby. Water temperatures are right around 70 degress, but as the next cold front moves in, expect fishing conditions to get better.
