Ice conditions at South Fork Reservoir have not changed much since last report.  The southwest shore between Coyote Cove, Jet Ski Beach, and Fisherman’s Point remains at about 9″ – 10″ of solid ice. The areas of Tomera Cove and the Boat Ramp have 6″ – 8″  inches. Expect several inches on snow atop the ice after recent storms. There is a large pressure ridge at the mouth of Boat Cove with some less stable ice from there toward the dam. Always drill test holes, be cautious, and  come prepared with safety gear. Rainbow trout fishing is fair. The bite is very light, be sure to have your rod in hand to set the hook. Successful anglers are catching fish in the 14-18 inch range with an occasional 20 inch fish.  Fishing is best in 5-to-10 feet of water. Combinations of worms, corn, and PowerBait on jig heads were working well. Some lures are also seeing action. Ice fishing holes must not exceed 10 inches in diameter (NAC 503.583). Limit of 5 trout.
