The mainstem Nehalem doesn’t have any hatchery steelhead releases, but there are wild steelhead available for catch-and-release fishing throughout the basin. The Nehalem is already off color and is predicted to go up again Wednesday night and Thursday. It may not back into shape for a while. Avoiding long fights and handling will reduce stress on released fish.
