Little Truckee River Fly Fishing Report & Forecast

The Little Truckee continues to have great flows this week, as of today it’s sitting at 118 CFS. This could change this week however, so we encourage you to look at the USGS website or give the shop a call before you go out to get the latest on conditions here.
While the flows are good, the fishing has been surprisingly tough this week. This is due partially to the lack of consistent hatches (Primarily PMD’s), and the heavy angling pressure. The other hatches found here right now will be caddis, midges and BWO’s, all of which are players on any given day. Be sure to have a good variety of these imitations both as nymphs and dries when fishing out here. Light tippet and a stealthy presentation will be crucial for these fish. We also encourage you to focus on fishing early mornings, late evenings, and mid-week to up your odds. Bring your A-Game for these picky fish!
