We are currently experiencing an excellent fishing season along the shores of the Colorado River. Both local and visiting anglers are having remarkable success in catching fish. Local angler Gerry Ward recently had a productive outing in the Rotary Park area. He managed to catch a few trout from the shore using a small trout jig. Additionally, it's worth noting that trout stocking occurs periodically during this time of year to address the caddis fly issue.

The introduction of trout by Crothers of Colorado has proven to be effective in controlling the caddis fly population. It's important to keep in mind that there is a bag limit of five trout per person. Exciting news comes from our local angler Jennifer Munez and her son Jackson, who successfully reeled in a sizeable 7.8-pound striper measuring 28 and 1/4 inches. Jennifer's impressive catch was made from the shore in the community park area using a pencil popper lure. In addition to this, reports suggest that lures are now attracting larger fish, adding to the excitement.

For anglers fishing below the Dais Dam, the bag limit for stripers is set at 10 with no specific size restriction. However, above the Davis Dam, the regulations differ. Striper catches under 20 inches have no limit, while catches over 20 inches have a bag limit of 20 fish.
