Chinook fishing has picked up in the lower river and anglers are catching some great looking fish. Chinook have been moving towards the upper end of tidewater and some may be working their way even higher up the river this week with the recent rain. This week will be a good opportunity to catch some Chinook on the Umpqua.
Remember, only 1 wild Chinook and 5 per season can be kept in aggregate between the Umpqua, Smith and North Fork Smith.
There is NO HARVEST OF WILD COHO in the mainstem Umpqua this year. Anglers have been catching and releasing many wild coho.
