Water temperatures are dropping into the 40s and trout fishing is picking up significantly. Most algae has cleared with a few pockets still dissipating along the shorelines. Anglers are having success catching trout from shore or from a boat, with fish over 18 inches and 2-3 pounds on average. Anglers wishing to target trout in these conditions should focus on using lures such as rooster-tails, spoons, or Rapalas. Anglers fishing from a boat could do well trolling flashers, spoons, and Rapalas, in shallower depths. Anglers that are fly fishing may have success stripping wooly bugger or leech patterns, or fishing balance leeches and midge patterns under an indicator. Bass fishing has slowed down for the season. Perch fishing will remain slow due to the die off last year. Special Regulations: Anglers may keep 1 black bass and 1 wiper measuring a minimum of 15 inches.
