The Little Truckee is currently accessible for most vehicles. Please keep in mind the road does not get maintained in the winter months, and not only will there still be patches of snow and ice present, but as everything melts out, there will also be rocks and debris in the road, so proceed with caution.

Recent reports indicate a good mid-day dry fly bite out here using baetis. The baetis found on the Little Truckee this time of year will be larger than those of the fall, and a size 18 imitation has been doing best. For these larger bugs, 7x will not be required and 6x tippet should be ample and is preferred to effectively fight and land the larger fish out here. The bugs remain the same as they have all winter. Baetis, midges and worms will be the predominant food sources out here. We have seen stable flows of 85 CFS out here over the last few weeks, and this means stable fishing conditions for the angler
