Castaic Lake held near 93 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures were in the mid-seventies. Bass anglers had a good week of fishing with large and smallmouth taking drop shot, Senkos, and Carolina rigged C3 baits. Bass held in 5 to 15 feet of water along bluffs, points, and cobble stoned banks. Ox Blood, Smoking Shad, and Margarita Mutilator were the colors of choice. Senkos and Keitechs also took plenty of fish. Striped bass anglers hooked fish with trolled A-rigs and umbrellas. However, the bait bite remained on the slow side. Catfish ate Tripple S dip bait, chicken liver, and live worms.
