Illipah Reservoir is sitting at approximately 90+% ice covered.  The ice thickness varies from 2 inches to 5 inches. There are areas of poor ice quality in the middle of the reservoir and along the western shoreline.  Anglers should use safety equipment (ice cleats, picks, etc.), especially during early ice season. Anglers fishing through the ice will do will jigging with nightcrawlers, PowerBait, and a variety of flashy spinners.  A total of 9,012 rainbow trout averaging 9.3 inches were stocked this fall.
