The Metolius is still producing strong results, especially for those focused on nymphing. Firestarter perdigons, Berry’s PCP, and tungsten bead Hare’s Ear nymphs have been working well across the board. For those targeting bull trout, streamer action has been a bit unpredictable, though white Sculpzillas and Dungeons continue to get some attention. Experiment with dead drifting or varying your retrieves to trigger a bite from these big bulls.

On top of that, there is a Stonefly hatch going on, bringing some exciting action to the river. If you're lucky enough to encounter some dry fly opportunities, keep an eye out for Blue Wing Olives in sizes #18-20. Sparkle Duns are a perfect match for these mayflies, so stock up and be ready when the hatch arrives!
