The Smith is low and clear and in need of some rain. And it’s on the way. As of Thursday, it was just under 6.5 feet (1,330) at the Jed Smith gauge. If the predictions are right, it should begin to rise Friday morning and peak sometime before noon on Saturday at 11.85 feet. It should be back to fishable conditions by Sunday, though a smaller rise is predicted for Monday before it goes on the drop Tuesday morning. We should see quite a few new fish enter the system on the rise, but once it settles down, it should be good fishing.
