Stocking: Another 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout from Idaho was stocked last week. In addition, DFW brought us 600 pounds. That’s 2,100 pounds of trout last weekend! The next trout stocking will be the week of February 3rd where another 1500 pounds of trout will be stocked. Trout season will conclude mid-April.

What’s the Catch?  Trout were caught from Eagle and Hermit 1 & 2 last weekend. Sounds like they were biting on powerbait in chartreuse varieties (glitter, garlic, lime twist), spoons, and brown mini jigs. There was a school of trout in Siesta Cove Friday morning, but they had dispersed by the afternoon. The catfish bite came alive last weekend with the rain! Multiple reports of catfish biting in Siesta Cove on shiners on Saturday. A 20-pound cat was caught in Shadow Cove on mackerel. No reports of bass or panfish bites last weekend.

Conditions: The current water temperature is 59 degrees near the dock. The sun is rising at 6:51 a.m. and setting at 5:21 p.m. The lake elevation is 695 feet.
