We haven't had any recent reports from Lewiston, and looking at the outflow numbers from the Trinity Lake Dam they are jacking the flows daily from 0 - 2,500 or 3,000 CFS. When the flows are up a good place to find willing Rainbows is in the current seams just below the outflow. Otherwise, you can target the river channel and keep your eyes open for cruising pods of 'Bows looking for protein. Good flies are always black and red Zebra Midges, Damseleeches & Swimming Leeches or a Pheasant Tail in sizes #16 - 18.

The lake is a good option if you are in the area, with intermittent releases from Trinity Lake, fishing right below the outflow can produce some consistent hookups. With the amount of Damsels and Dragonflies in this system, Wooly Buggers stripped in brown, black and olive, and Balanced Leeches the same color stripped or fished under an indicator are solid approaches. And Zebra Midges in #16 - 18, black and red, are a staple here.
