The access on the Little Truckee will be a bit spotty this week depending on how much snow falls here in town. As of today, it is accessible and fishing well. While the main hatch has been BWO’s this entire winter. Over the last few weeks we have been getting good reports on dry fly fishing using winter stones. This week we are also looking at skwalas, providing a nice change in pace from their normal finicky feeding habit when it comes to mayflies. Using skwala nymphs is certainly another great option and works particularly well for the angler who likes to cover a lot of water.
