Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout from Idaho the week of March 31st. The last stocking of 1,500 pounds will added to the lake next week. Over 20,000 pounds of trout have been stocked this season! Catfish stocking information coming soon.

What’s the Catch? As expected with the stock, trout were pulled from Hermit Cove to the tower buoy line. Most limits were caught by boat, but the trout seem to be biting on everything. Nightcrawlers, Rapala, Powerbait, mini jigs - we heard they were not particular. Even though the stockings are coming to an end, the water temperature will remain cool enough to support the population until the evenings warm up. Expect to see trout being pulled from the lake into May. The Redear bite has been good from the campground shoreline. Pieces of nightcrawler or meal worms will usually get some nibbles from the panfish. No reports of bass or catfish last weekend.

Conditions: The current water temperature is 63 degrees. Water temps are starting to rise, but remain consistent throughout the water column. The aerator has been turned on, so the dissolved oxygen content is well mixed. The district is currently filling the lake. The days are getting longer with the sun rising at 6:24 a.m. and setting at 7:15 p.m.
