The Nestucca is slowing down but we were still hearing of some fish being caught last week. The river is getting a little low, but still in decent fishing condition.
The upper Nestucca above Moon Creek closed to angling April 1 to protect spawning wild steelhead and out-migrating juveniles and will reopen for trout and summer steelhead on May 22.
There have not been any reports of spring Chinook in the estuary yet but the first few could show up anytime now
