Water temperatures are sitting in the mid to high 50s

State Park staff has opened the main boat ramp for the season. Water temperatures are sitting in the mid to high 50s. Spring stocking has begun with over 5,000 rainbow trout stockedearly April. Shoreline anglers are having the best luck with trout hitting orange PowerBait, or nymph, midge and leech patterns on a fly rod. Streamers are being hit hard off the dam. Below the dam, fly anglers are finding trout in the pools downstream of the spillway. Expect bass and catfish catches to pick up soon with the warmer weather. Special regulations: March 1 – June 30 is catch and release only for black bass.
