Stocking: Catfish Opener is set for May 23rd where 1,500 pounds from Alpine Fishery will be stocked. Catfish season will run through October. A total of 8,500 pounds of catfish will be stocked. The lake will be open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays beginning May 23rd!

What’s the Catch? The water temps are still optimum for trout and limits continue to be pulled. Look for trout to be near the channels where they can get to deeper water. You’ll need to be on a boat to grab limits. Reports last weekend were the trout were biting on nightcrawlers. Bass bite is still strong as we transition to post spawn. A few smaller bass were caught from shore on plastics last weekend. Sounds like the larger bass are going deeper this time of year. The Redear and Bluegill bite is best from Half Moon Cove or the t-dock. Pinch off a piece of nightcrawler or red worm to encourage a bite. No reports of catfish last weekend, but when the water temps start to rise the catfish will follow.

Conditions: The current water temperature is 65 degrees at the surface. Water temps are rising slowly. The aerator has been turned on, so the dissolved oxygen content is well mixed. The days are getting longer with the sun rising at 5:55 a.m. and setting at 7:35 p.m.
