We’re 30 days into the Season and fishing has been fin-tastic!
We have been seeing catches ranging from 1.5lbs to 8.5lbs.
An 8.5 brown was snagged out of the creek!
Nightcrawlers, mini jigs, Rooster Tails and garlic Powerbait have been the hot tickets. The lake has been privately stocked twice so far, with more to come.
CDFW has been regularly stocking, as well
We put in 14 tagged fish last week for the CASH derby over
Memorial Day Weekend. Congratulations to the two lucky anglers who pulled tagged fish worth $50 and $100.
The Round Up at the Lake Derby continues until June 12th. We currently have 115 people signed up with 56 entries that have qualified to be in the random drawing.
After signing up, all you have to do to qualify is catch a 14-inch or larger fish and bring it to the General Store.
Sign up for just $19 and get the popular Convict Lake annual pin and 14-inch ruler to measure your catch. Opening Day shirts and Derby shirts are still available in the General Store.
Anglers have had great success from the shore and boats. Private boats are permitted on the lake. If you do not own a boat, don’t worry, we have nice shiny new pontoons great for groups available to rent. For smaller groups, we also have 16ft V-Hulls.
