Things are heating up on the Metolius. Green Drakes are showing up in good numbers, with hatches kicking off around mid-afternoon and bringing aggressive surface eats from quality redbands. PMDs are active earlier in the day and Caddis continue to be a key player as temps rise. Keep an eye out for little olive Stoneflies too.

The Upper Metolius reopened yesterday, offering fresh water upstream of Allingham Bridge. That stretch should fish well out of the gate with the usual mix of dry fly and nymphing opportunities. For subsurface work, consistent patterns include Tan Caddis Pupa, Perdigons, Micro Mays, Soft Hackles, Zebra Midges, Golden Stones, and Green Drake nymphs. Stick around into the evening on warmer days for caddis and rusty spinner activity.
