That perfect time on the Truckee River. We get that golden window every year right around now. We'll see how long it lasts, but if the flows and the water temps stay like this, it should stay good, and when I say good, I mean good. 

Big fish, small fish ,they're all eating. Eating? Well, any bug that swims is hatching. Golden stones, caddis, pmd. Look for the green drakes shortly. That can be the best hatch on the river when they pop. Big fish time. Has to be cloudy for a big hatch though. 

When I say hatching, except for the drakes, I'm talking nymphing. Almost 100 % of our trout feed sub-surface. 

So get after it. Soon you'll have to work way harder fro them.
