East Carson River (CA) Fish Report for 6-19-2025
The fishing has picked up a little now that the water has mellowed a bit
East Carson River (CA) - Markleeville, CA (Alpine County)

We have some campers here in the campground I wanted to share.
7 year old Hendrix Potkin fishing with his cousin 5 and 1/2 year old Cleo Potenzone from Santa Cruz were fishing the Markleeville creek today using a chartreuse Sierra Slammer when Hendrix caught this fish. It was already cleaned weighing in at 3.6 pounds. They had a great day.
Other than that, Markleeville creek is still the place to go. The East fork is starting to slow down. I few smaller fish have been taken out. The state had just planted Kinney reservoir today also.
Phil went to the fish and game meeting tonight, hopefully we have good news on funding for the East fork!

The fishing has picked up a little now that the water has mellowed a bit. Power eggs, either red or orange have been productive. Henrix Potkin and his cousin Cleo Potenzone were fishing the area lately and caught a nice rainbow on a chartreuse sierra slammer. The trout weighed in at 3.6 after it was cleaned. The Carson River Resort is open for cabin rentals, tent and RV camping. Plus they have a fully stocked general store of all those things you forgot to bring. For more information call 530-694-2229.
Good luck on your next fishing adventure. If you have a question. a report in our local fishing area or have a photo of your catch, send it to nevada@fishreports.com. Hope to see you on the waters. Good fishin' and tight lines.
