Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish this week! The next stocking of 1,000 pounds will be the week of July 7th. A total of 8,500 pounds of catfish will be stocked. The lake is now open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays!
What’s the Catch? The summer catfish season is heating up! Fishermen are reporting steady action, especially after sunset. The best spots this week have been Half Moon Cove and the t-dock, with fish caught in 15–25 feet of water. Cut mackerel, chicken liver, and garlic-scented dough baits are all producing. For catfish, keep your bait on the bottom and stay patient—big ones are cruising after dusk.
Conditions: The current water temperature is 72 degrees at the surface. The aerator has been turned on, so the dissolved oxygen content is well mixed. The days are getting longer with the sun rising at 5:40 a.m. and setting at 7:59 p.m.
