Happy first day of Summer. 

Things are really firing off on the Truckee River. Very good fishing happening. 

It's a tale of 2 rivers right now. The river from Truckee to Boca, and the river from Boca through West Reno. 

The upper section is low, as there are no releases coming out of Lake Tahoe, and the lower section is high as there is a lot of water coming out of Boca Reservoir. 

My reports are always from Boca on down, the upper section, I just don't spend much time in. 

We just had an epic Green Drake hatch. Lots of big fish busting those big mayflies on top. You may see some drakes cruising around though out the day, but the main hatch is gone.

It's about that time when Truckee trout will spend most of their time eating crayfish, and that should be a mainstay bug when you come fish here. Of course they eat the small bugs too. 

No real hot weather yet, and with the flows like this the fishing should continue to be very good.
