Fishing Conditions

Wade fishing time on the upper Rio.  This can be a time where you may find a lot of solitude on the Big River as compared to a month ago.

Bugs to look for are some drake and PMD mayflies, caddis, Tricos, and the occasional terrestrial, such as an ant or moth.

Patterns/Bug

Dries: Stimulators #12-16,  Chubbies 12-16, RIO’s Big Boned Caddis, Elk Hair Caddis, Parachute Caddis, all caddis14-18.  Parachute Adams 14-18, PMD Hairwing Dun 16-18, PMD Extended Body 16-18.

Nymphs: Pat’s Rubberlegs 8-12, 20 Incher Stone 10-14, Pheasant Tail and variations 16-20, Prince Nymphs 14-18, Duracell Jig 14-16.

Hoppers: Morrish Hopper 8-12Sweetgrass Hopper 12-14Lil Hopper Juan 12-14.
