Look for your best chances at Spots with your fly rod in the back coves where they can be found chasing Shad balls up into the shallows. Float n' Fly works well in these situations. During the day fishing a sinking line with a crayfish pattern fished back towards the bank and as deep as you can get it is effective as well. You can get topwater action in the early mornings and evenings off of points, Swimming Frogs or your favorite popper will work. You can also try a Crease Fly if you see fish chasing Shad balls up towards the surface.
Hot Flies:
• Wooly Buggers
• Float-n-Flies
• Dead Drop Minnow
• Zack's Stillwater Balanced Leech
