The Hoopa Kayak Dances will be happening Monday, the 25th. Friday they will be releasing 750 CFS, and Monday they will ramp up to 2,300 CFS, and will bring the flows back down through the week. Fishing has been very good from the top down to Del Loma. Keep your thermometer handy, the lower flows will allow the river to heat up substantially below Junction City. There are still plenty of fish in the system, a lot of half pounders and a few legit adults. If you venture below Junction City keep a thermometer handy. These are super grabby summer run fish, you can get them on Rubberlegs, Duracells, Olive Hotspots and Copper Johns. Now is the time to fish skaters and smaller flies. Keep an eye on water temps, once they are above 65F you should give the fish a break.
