Castaic Lake continued to drop, holding at 87% of capacity with water temperatures near 80 degrees and fair to good clarity. Bass anglers enjoyed excellent topwater action until mid-morning, with white lures drawing aggressive strikes before the bite shifted deeper. Drop-shots, Carolina rigs, and Ned rigs produced fish in 15 to 25 feet along bluff walls and points. Striped bass anglers found limited success chasing boils. Most of the activity was concentrated in the Ski Arm where numerous boats targeted the same schools. Catfish bit on dip bait, cut sardines, and chicken liver fished on Carolina rigs.
