Pyramid Lake held near 90% of its storage capacity with water temperatures in the mid-seventies. Anglers reported decent fishing for all species with bass as the best bet on most days. Both largemouth and smallmouth hit topwater poppers and walking baits in shaded areas early, though that bite was hit or miss, while drop shot and Texas rigs produced well over rocky structure, bluff walls, and points. With the fall die-off of weed beds underway, bass shifted to more oxygenated haunts. Striped bass boiled sporadically throughout the lake, and anglers who kept a white topwater lure ready found the most success. Trolled umbrella rigs and cut sardines also put fish in the boat. Catfishing improved, with some real hogs reported on dip bait and cut sardines fished on bait rigs.
