Lake Del Valle Report

Del Valle Lake - Livermore, CA (Alameda County)

Ted Cribari, Al Hurwitz, and Nate Sarkisian trolled Lake Del Valle (LDV) on October 9, 2025, looking for a variety of Bass species. We caught 4 fish, including 2 nice Smallmouth Bass, 1 feisty Striped Bass, and 1 Bluegill. The Smallies and Strlper (all caught by Ted and Nate) are pictured here. Several other fish (probably Smallmouths), didn’t stay pinned. Many of the bites were  in the area of Heron Bay. Most of the fish were caught on feathered in-line 1/4 oz. spinners trolled about 21 feet below the surface in 30 foot water columns. Scent was applied to the lures. All fish were released in excellent condition. The morning bite died off after 9:30 AM, so there was very little action after that. It was a cloudy and pleasant temperate day with the water surface temperature around 70 degrees. The water clarity was very good in the upper portion of the lake.

Looking forward to improved numbers and size of the Bass as winter approaches and the fish are preparing to feed more aggressively.

All the best,

Ted Cribari, Los Gatos
Dr. Al Hurwitz, Saratoga
Nate Sarkisian, Saratoga
