Fall Chinook fishing in the Trask River remains slow above tidewater. This weekend's rain probably brought a few fish into the lower river... The Tillamook basin (including the Trask) has a reduced wild adult fall Chinook bag limit of 1/day and 2/season as part of the overall daily limit.
The Trask gets a run of hatchery coho and they should be moving into the lower river this week. There is no retention of wild coho upstream of the Highway 101 bridge.
There are resident coastal cutthroat trout throughout the Trask basin, including the forks, and sea-run cutthroat have moved into the river as well. Many areas have bait restrictions in place so check the regulations for those and open areas before heading out.
The Trask River from the marker at the Dam Hole (MP 7 on Trask River Rd) up to Blue Ridge Creek is closed to angling September 1 to November 30.
