Water temperature: At surface 66.92 f., 8.77 D.O. @ 15’ 67.10 f., 8.16 D.O.
Water level: Low level, private watercraft are currently banned.
 
Permits and boat rentals are sold at the Ranger Station. We are credit/debit only, no cash transactions. We do not sell fishing licenses so anglers must obtain them elsewhere prior to their visit. The all-day motor boats are $25 for active military every Saturday.
 
In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels there is a ban on private watercraft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes; private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
 
The lake and surrounding park are currently closed on weekdays and open weekends only until Opening Day of trout season in December.
 
Largemouth bass can be found lurking around structure. The bass are chasing crankbaits, crawdads, and frogs.
 
Catfish are on the feed right now bulking up for winter. They can be found throughout the lake but bite best at either end. Shrimp and chicken liver are the top baits for catfish presently.
 
Crappie prefer the cover of shade and bite best in the early mornings and late afternoons. Bass Point, the Crappie Float, and the west buoy line are the three best spots for crappie. Crappie are most often caught using live golden shiners or mini-jigs.
 
Each month Whopper Contest winners in four categories are awarded a free fishing and boating permit. Contest winners must legally catch their fish at Lake Wohlford and have it weighed in by a
