The season on the Fall is winding up, but you can still get on fish if you know where to look. Watch the weather as it can be quite cold and windy. Fish downstream and you can find fish that will eat leeches. This is typically when we see Blue Wing Olive hatches and the last of the Tricos, Callibaetis and PMDs of the season. There are a ton of BWO dries, Norman's Loopwing and the Hackle Stacker are both fine flies. Small #18 S&M nymphs in black and olive will get fish eating subsurface. For the Tricos, the Drowned Trico and CDC Trico Spinner are good choices. Baetis and Callibaetis nymphs under the Fathead Moth is a good combination when the fish aren't rising. Strip Pine Squirrel Leeches and Water Boatmen in the mid-day and afternoons. If you would like to set up a day on the Fall, give a call Bryan in Outfitters at 800-669-3474 to set up a trip!

Fall River: There are a ton of BWO dries, Norman's Loopwing and the Hackle Stacker are both fine flies
Hat Creek: For the most part, we are still seeing daily Trico hatches and a spinner fall
McCloud River: Clarity on the low end is still very good
Pit River: Releases at Pit 3 are 350 CFS which is still a good flow
Trinity River: Fishing on the Trinity is still very good and should only improve as we get into November
Sacramento River - Upper: The October Caddis are coming off further downstream and should continue to progress
Baum Lake: It is cooling off in the Hat Creek Valley and the lake is fishing well
Shasta Lake: Good reports of trout and bass coming to shad patterns and Woolley Buggers
Lewiston Lake: Recent reports indicate that you can get a lot of fish on midge pupae
Manzanita Lake: The storm dropped some snow on the park and this may be your last opportunity to fish
