Fall Chinook fishing was decent on the Kilchis last week until heavy rains blew the river out over the weekend. Another storm is on the way and will probably keep the Kilchis high and off color for another weekend but once it comes in shape there should be fish throughout the fishery (up to Tilden Bluff Road Bridge). Tillamook Basin rivers have reduced bag limits for wild adult Chinook this season; check the regulation updates online.
The catch and release chum fishery should be good the next couple of weeks when the river is in decent condition. Anglers are encouraged to use good ethics and avoid spawning fish and redds (spawning nest).
Cutthroat trout season closed November 1.
