You might encounter snow. The lake was stocked almost two months ago with 12-14 inch rainbow trout this week. Fishing should be slow. The mouth of Evening Creek is also a good area to try. Brown Trout are in the shallows cruising and looking for places to spawn.
The best area for fly fishing for smaller brown trout is the southeast end where there is some aquatic macrophyte growth. Fishing can be ok from shore all along the campground section for rainbow trout. Miller Creek has abundant small Brook Trout with an occasional Brown Trout or Rainbow Trout. Bait is allowed.
Call the USFS in Chiloquin for more information, (541) 783-4001.
