Los Vaqueros Reservoir Fish Report for 11-28-2025
Los Vaqueros Fishing Report
Los Vaqueros Reservoir - Livermore, CA (Contra Costa County)

Frank Baucom, Paul Clouse, and Al Hurwitz trolled Los Vaqueros Reservoir on 11/26/25, looking mainly for Rainbow Trout. We trolled Cox, Howden, East, and Peninsula Coves. We had a number of strikes and fish on the lines, but 4-5 didn’t stay pinned, so we ultimately ended up landing two nice Mt. Lassen Trout (pictured here), each weighing about 2 pounds. We caught these Trout in both Howden and Peninsula Coves, but had no strikes elsewhere. We trolled Jointed J-9 Rapalas with some initial success, but then later had better luck with Mooselook Wobbler Spoons. We applied scent to the lures, and trolled them 10-20 feet below the surface in 18-30 foot water columns. The weather was chilly, with a surface water temperature of 62.9 degrees. The reservoir is full, and the water very clear, so trolling should continue to improve, especially with the ongoing aggressive Trout planting schedule.
We thank the Los vaqueros staff for helping us get on and off the water so efficiently. Happy Thanksgiving and hope to see you soon!

1/19/25 Lake Del Valle Outing

We caught only one fish, a 1/4-1/2 pound Smallmouth Bass caught by Paul along the western shore at the north end of the Narrows. That was it! No other...... Read More
